Student Engagement and Support Services (SESS) Representative
The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) has an immediate opening for a SESS Representative in our Deerfield Office. The person selected will be responsible for answering questions from financial aid administrators (schools), students and parents about planning, applying, and paying for college. Also, responsibilities include sharing our program information with students through participation in conferences and other agency-supported activities.
Responsibilities
- Actively listen and respond to routine inquiries from financial aid administrators (schools), students and parents on college planning, finding, applying, and financing.
- Interpret and explain financial aid application procedures, as well as programs, products, and services available from ISAC and the federal government.
- Develop and maintain current working knowledge of all ISAC administered program rules, policies, procedures, state and federal regulations and statutes.
- Ensure that the division’s key performance and customer service principles are met in execution of duties and responsibilities.
- Record the nature of all inquiries and those requiring action.
- Prepare weekly activity reports as required by manager.
- Provide input on ISAC’s website content as assigned.
- Present information on ISAC programs to students through participation in conferences and other agency-supported activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any one or any combination totaling eighteen (18) months from the following categories:
- course work in business administration, communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, psychology, education, or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
- professional work experience in customer service, marketing, public relations, or a closely related field.
- Possession of a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Salary Range: 45,000 – 50,004
